Embedded Planet, a leader in embedded computing and systems solutions (www.embeddedplanet.com), is announcing the addition of mass storage options to their aXcelent line of rapid development MicroTCA Systems. The aXcelent line is designed to accelerate OEM time to market for networking, telecom, and industrial applications with a fully integrated MicroTCA infrastructure.

The aXcelent MicroTCA storage options support both standard SATA hard drives for cost sensitive applications and solid state disks (SSD) for increased system performance and reliability. RAID configurations can also be supported with multiple mass storage modules.
The aXcelent MicroTCA systems includes a 19", 1U chassis that supports three full size or six mid-size AMC modules. The chassis supports either an AC or -48VDC power supply, and two hot swappable cooling units with four push-pull fans and air filters. The MCH supports Gigabit Ethernet on the base channel and PCIe on the fabric channels for the current version of the system, with additional fabric options being offered in the future. All of Embedded Planet's AMC cards have been tested and integrated with the aXcelent platform and can be ordered with a Linux or VxWorks board support package.
