Embedded Planet, a leader in embedded computing and systems solutions (www.embeddedplanet.com), is announcing an addition to their aXcelent line of rapid development MicroTCA Systems. The aXcelent line is designed to accelerate OEM time to market for networking, telecom, and industrial applications with a fully integrated MicroTCA infrastructure. "We have been providing PowerPC based Processor AMCs for several years", said Mark Lowdermilk, CEO of Embedded Planet. "With the launch of the aXcelent MicroTCA system we are enabling our customers to reach the market more quickly with an integrated and flexible system. The aXcelent MicroTCA systems includes a 19", 2U chassis that supports twelve mid-size or six full size AMC modules. The chassis supports either an AC or -48VDC power supply, two hot swappable cooling units with four push-pull fans and air filters. The MCH supports Gigabit Ethernet on the base channel and PCIe on the fabric channels for the current version of the system, with additional fabric options being offered in the future.
For system management the aXcelent system supports the NATView software suite. This suite allows monitoring of all system functions and card status.
All of Embedded Planet's AMC cards support PCIe as a fabric option and support Gigabit Ethernet on the base channels and all have been integrated with the aXcelent system giving customers a range of performance options to choose from. All of the AMC cards are available with a Linux, VxWorks, or Green Hills INTEGRITY BSP further simplifying product development.
