Expansion Bus

All Embedded Planet computing engines provide an expansion bus to help you integrate these computing engines into your products, or to help you build your own specific I/O functions. The RPX Bus for MPC8xx, EP S Bus for MPC82xx, and EBC and PCI busses for PPC405GP products also allow you to develop and prototype using one device. The various processor families supported provide maximum flexibility in design and functionality. Special functions and peripheral functions of the PowerPC processor are mapped through the expansion bus to standard connectors. The connectors provide direct access to the processor while allowing a modular and scalable product design.

PlanetCore

PlanetCore accelerates and simplifies software and hardware development on IBM, AMCC and Motorola PowerPC. Select computing engines include PlanetCore, which provides firmware and utilities for loading, setup, and diagnostics of the hardware. PlanetCore is a suite of three utilities:

• A target based application boot loader.
• A host based flash burner.
• A suite of drivers and diagnostics.

Production Ready

Embedded Planet provides PC/104 form factor Single Board Computers (SBC) for developers building products that extend the range of today's Internet. Credit card sized versions of most products and production quantity pricing are available. Computing engine configurations (including the following PowerPC processors: PPC405GP, MPC8260, MPC823, MPC823E, MPC850, MPC855, MPC857, MPC860, and MPC862) for RAM, Flash, and most components can be customized to meet your requirements.

Production Quantity Computing Engines

Embedded Planet produces reliable and leading edge products which simplify the design and deployment of using Motorola's PowerPC 8xx and 82xx lines of microprocessor and AMCC's PowerPC 405GP line of processor. The computing engines are designed to accommodate different variants of MPC8xx and MPC82xx designs and provide physical I/O for the built in peripherals. All computing engines can be licensed for fast integration into your product or design. Customization of computing engines to incorporate your I/O requirements is available as well as manufacturing at your facility. Extended temperature testing is available.
