EP8360A

The EP8360A is a single width, full height AMC processor board with a low power, high performance Freescale MPC8360E PowerQUICC II Pro processor operating at up to 667MHz. The EP8360A board can operate as an AdvancedMC module within an AdvancedTCA system when plugged into an ATCA carrier or MicroTCA chassis. The EP8360A is built for a broad range of demanding applications in wireless basestations, media gateways, enterprise network access systems, test and measurement systems, and server blades. In addition to the AMC configuration the EP8360A can operate as a stand-alone module and boot from on board flash allowing for rapid application.

At the heart of the EP8360A is the Freescale MPC8360E PowerQUICC II Pro family of integrated communications processor. The MPC8360E family incorporates a next-generation communications engine, the QUICC Engine, supporting a wide range of protocols, including Gigabit Ethernet and OC- 12 asynchronous transfer mode (ATM)/Packet over Sonet (POS). The highly integrated SoC architecture improves system performance, simplifies board design, lowers power consumption, and reduces cost.

Embedded Planet also supports the EP8360A with multiple OS options and an open source bootloader, allowing you to focus on your application. Like all Embedded Planet products the EP8360A can be custom configured to meet your needs.
