Freescale Embedded PowerPC Single Board Computers
Embedded Planet manufactures a large range of Freescale Embedded PowerPC and QorIQ based single board computer modules. The processors supported include a full range of PowerQUICC I, PowerQUICC II, PowerQUICC II Pro, PowerQUICC III and QorIQ products. In 2011, we introduced a line of Advanced Mezzanine Cards based on the Frescale QorIQ line of embedded multicore processors.
The PowerQUICC family of processors include integrated PowerPC cores and communications processing modules. The PowerPC cores are standard cores allowing you to use standard PowerPC tools to develop and debug software and hardware. The CPMs are specialized RISC computing engines designed to offload functions such as networking and security protocols. The combination of the two computing engines makes for a powerful, scaleable, and cost effective computing solution.
As with all Embedded Planet Single Board Computer Modules the Freescale PowerPC products include a firmware suite (PlanetCore or U-Boot). Embedded Linux and VxWorks BSPs are available directly from Embedded Planet to accelerate development.
