Embedded Planet has the capability to repurpose its existing designs into alternative form factors to meet specialized customer requirements. This CompactPCI card began its life as an air-cooled Advance Mezzanine Card and was subsequently morphed into a conduction cooled CompactPCI 3U card to meet our customer’s exacting specifications. Custom Secure Switch

Embedded Planet was employed by a company that provides imaging systems to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturers to design, build and supply a powerful, compact computing and I/O module for their camera systems. At only 3.5″ x 2.2″ x 1.5″, the board stack will fit into compact spaces, while 13 serial ports, 2 USB ports and 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports provide the necessary contol I/O. At the heart of this system is the EP440xS powered by an AMCC PowerPC 440EPx processor. The 440EPx is a highly integrated SoC that includes a PowerPC core at speed up to 667MHz, a floating point unit, NAND flash controller, DDR2 RAM controller, USB 2.0 host device controllers and dual Gigabit Ethernet MACS.

Cavium 6300 Evaluation Board

Embedded Planet was employed by Cavium Networks to develop a standard height PCIe form factor OCTEON II evaluation board based on the Cavium CN66xx processor. The board harnesses the power of the Cavium Networks CN66xx processor running up to six cnMIPS II processor cores at up to 1.3 GHz. The board will support up to 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, 64 Mbytes of flash and 1GB of NAND flash. Ports include two RGMII and four SGMII Ethernet ports at up to 1,000 Mbps and one 10G XAUI port via a SFP+ transceiver. The two serial ports are configured as a UART0 6 wire and a UART1 4 wire via standard DB9 connectors.
