Air Quality Monitoring

Wireless IoT Sensors for Air Quality Monitoring

IoT Sensor Applications For Air Quality Monitoring

Manufacturing

Monitoring Air Quality in your facility or manufacturing area to ensure worker satisfaction and safety.

Metro and Municipality

Monitor, record and log air quality for a geographic area. Set limits to monitor air quality based on metrics.

Work Room

Monitor air quality in a limited area like a work room or preparation area.

The Solution: Inexpensive workplace air quality monitoring

Inexpensive workplace air quality monitoring is now possible with the epConnect Air Quality Monitoring Sensor. Based on the Bosch BME 680 sensor, this wireless sensor can detect pressure, temperature, humidity and the presence of harmful gas concentrations found in some workplace environments including ethane, ethanol, acetone and carbon monoxide. Measuring VOCs by absorption, the sensor can be set up to report air quality on a simple six-level scale from “good” to “very bad” air quality.

Benefits
  • Improved user experience
  • Improved monitoring for EPA
  • Lower medical costs with better Air Quality
Target Application
  • Industrial manufacturing
  • Work areas or special prep rooms
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Verification of Air Quality

Products Included In This Solution

Arrow Electronics Sensors

Sensors include Air Quality, temperature, proximity, position, moisture, flow, fluid leaks and vibration.

Embedded Planet epGateway™

Sensors connect directly to the Embedded Planet epGateway. The epGateway serves as a sensor hub for both wired and wireless sensors including epSensors. The epGateway can send data to Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud and Amazon AWS. It also provides remote device management in a secure multi-tenant environment.

epCloud

Sensor data is sent to Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud and Amazon AWS. Device management is performed via epCloud and can securely update device firmware and manage the system remotely. Data rendered into visualization dashboards which use rules to notify maintenance personnel via texts or push the data to tools for automatic work order creation. Data is stored in a cloud-based database for longer term historical analysis which is required for predictive analytics.
